I currently serve as Director Labor Relations for Norfolk Southern Corporation, a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation’s premier transportation businesses. Since 1827, we've been moving the goods and materials that power the U.S. economy. Customer-centric and operations-driven, we are dedicated to advancing safety, serving communities, and driving innovation for tomorrow's rail. I joined NS in 2004 and served in several positions with increasing responsibility before being promoted to Director Labor Relations in 2017. My primary purpose is to build and maintain relationships with labor and provide strategic guidance to field supervision concerning handling of all labor/employee relations matters. I am also required to keep informed of current labor developments, including operational, regulatory, and technological changes in railroad industry. I am a native of Virginia Beach and earned a degree from Florida State University with a double major in Political Science and Economics. I am a creative, customer-focused Labor/Employee Relations professional with a proven track record of providing effective solutions in a variety of areas including workforce optimization, contract negotiation, and staff development. I have a strong background in enhancing productivity and driving labor relations while overseeing compliance with applicable collective bargaining agreements and governing labor and employment laws.
