About John Nicholson

I work at Environmental Business Consultants (“EBC”), a firm I co-founded. EBC specializes in helping environmental companies grow and prosper through technical assistance, financing, and marketing, and business development. I am a Senior Environmental Engineer (former CEO and COO) at CHAR Tech Solutions Inc, a company specializing in environmental technology solutions through CHAR Technologies and environmental consulting through ALTECH Environmental. I have worked in the environmental sector since 1989, first as an environmental engineer at a large Canadian consulting firm and subsequently as an in-house engineer at one of Canada’s leading law firms and at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. I am the editor of Hazmat Management Magazine and the business columnist for a number of environmental publications and have written extensively about environmental technologies and business opportunities. I was also an editor and contributor to other trade publications. I am a sessional lecturer at various colleges in the Greater Toronto Area, including Sheridan College and Humber Polytechnic. I have a B.Sc.(Eng.) and an M.Sc.(Eng.) in environmental engineering from the University of Guelph. I am a registered professional engineer in the Province of Ontario.
