About John Obrien

Positive Athlete is a national organization that develops and recognizes high-character high school student-athletes for their tremendous impact off the field. We shine a light on incredible young people who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their school and local communities in a significant way, and consistently uplift others through their leadership and positive attitude. Our program is completely free for all high schools to participate, and nominated student-athletes are eligible for scholarships, public recognition and free lifetime access to character development tools and career resources through our digital platform. Ultimately, we aim to help students understand the lifelong value of their athletic experience by connecting the soft skills they’ve developed like teamwork, leadership, and resilience with free educational, career, and business opportunities that foster character, build leadership, and support a successful transition from athletics to life.
