About John Pappas

I am a Senior undergraduate Risk Management and Insurance major at the St.John's Greenberg School of Risk Management and Actuarial Science. My coursework as an undergraduate has led me to cultivate an advanced understanding of Risk Management. Some of the courses that I have taken in regarding my Risk Management education include Commercial Liability, Reinsurance, Life, Health, Modern Statistics I, Fundamentals of Accounting, Insurance Industry Structure & Operations, and Life, Health and Employee Benefits. St.John's coursework has given me a broad understanding of Risk Management that will translate into the industry.My internship with the Cyber Underwriting Team at AXA XL has allowed me to cultivate this coursework into real-life experience. Through this internship, I have been responsible for working up renewals and new business opportunities, which has helped me become proficient with Excel, put together and finish quote letters, and analyze cyber risks associated with various industry classes. I look forward to applying the skills I have polished through my education and internship experience to succeed in an industry role after graduating in May 2024 and starting my new role as an Assistant Cyber Underwriter at AXA XL.
