I lead AFRY’s work within the power sector on flexible generation in the GB market. We have supported some of the largest players in storage with their plans. I lead a team of consultants, who are performing power market analysis using advanced market modelling techniques, and interpreting results to give strategic advice to a wide variety of clients. Energy storage is probably the most complex asset type. My team at AFRY have led the way in modelling and bringing understanding to the value of storage from transmission constraints, inertia, voltage support, along with developing our modelling of other key storage revenue streams such as dynamic response, wholesale arbitrage and the BM. I have previously been heavily involved in writing AFRY’s models, licensed widely to utilities and TSOs, and also underpinning significant public reports for bodies such as National Grid ESO, BEIS, DNOs, GDNs, and the amongst others.
