About John Petersen
I have 20+ years of Industrial Design experience on a variety of consumer, medical and transportation products. In 2016 I achieved SolidWorks 3D modeling professional certification. In addition, I have experience in making and designing traditional sea kayaks and paddles, creating Shaman Kayaks in 2004 - a start-up business and held an annual kayak symposium from 2006 - 2010 where I and others shared the beauty about traditional sea kayaking. The Aleut Tribe in Anchorage asked for my assistance in teaching their youth about kayak construction over two summer gatherings. My goal is to continue applying my skills with companies whose vision embraces the earth developing sustainable products. My career path has evolved from designer, business owner, solar salesman to solar system designer and more. Specialties: Conceptualizing and problem solving within the framework of a beautiful aesthetic design with a passion for environmentally sustainable design.
