Reinventing myself again. now as a Delaware State Fire Police Officer. What are the Fire Police (?). The Delaware Fire Police are volunteer fire brigade/company members who based upon their jurisdictional authority, receive sworn police powers from the County Sheriff, special training, and support firefighting efforts at emergency incidents including but not limited to; structural fires, motor vehicle collisions etc. After Retirement Thought I’d try consulting for a bit with HydroCorp Inc out of Michigan. Received my ASSE credentials and loved what I did, but as time went on, found that the job was getting in the way of my passion…. Volunteering. That said, after completing a yearlong commitment in Wilmington in 5 months, I resigned my position. I took the Southern Ride Captain position with the DE Patriot Guard Riders, and in my spare time work with the Milton PD Auxiliary Patrol. Who knows what’s next, but I count my blessings daily. living at the beach, traveling, having grandkids and the love of a very special lady. Life is a Blessing, don’t forget how you got here. Retirement Two years after my 5th and hopefully last Traumatic Brain Injury, I had lost much of the brain capacity to stay focused, work with numbers and calendars. After moving to the beach & showing up at the office maybe 2x a month now, the itch for stress-free life was luring me from the grinds of a work week. I sold the business formally retired Feb 6 2014. In 2003 we made the decision to change the direction of the company from construction to a service based plumbing firm.
