About John Phillips

I am a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser covering South and South East Wales as well as Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. I am based in Abergavenny and specialise in providing advice to my clients regarding their investments, pensions, retirement, inheritance tax planning, protection (life cover, critical illness cover, income protection), insurances and commercial advice (workplace pensions, business protection). I also provide advice to the teaching profession. I am also very passionate that it is immensely important to help our children and youngsters with a sound financial knowledge. I therefore visit schools and colleges to present to the pupils a lesson on the basics of finance outside the classroom, as well as a bespoke presentation to the teaching staff. Having worked in the industry for 27 years and as an adviser for the past 20 years having worked for both a firm of Chartered Accountants and some of the large UK banks. I thoroughly enjoy speaking to my clients to assist them to understand their financial position both now and for the future in a friendly, professional way. I believe it is important to have regular reviews to ensure my client’s financial plans are always on track. Will writing and ensuring my client’s properties are owned in the right way is something that is hugely important and it is a subject that I am speaking to more and more of my clients about.
