About John Porter

I started in the concrete business in 1992 after the USAF. I started driving a mixer for Metromont Materials and in under 3 yrs was running a small Rex plant with 2 trucks. I eventually ran Cottonwood about 7 yrs later. When Bluedot was getting started, I went to work there for about 8 years, driving, dispatching, and running the Harrisburg plant. I left for personal reasons and went back to Cemex driving a mixer. I began working in dispatch in Dec 2012 and remained in the position of Customer Service Rep when Cemex merged with Concrete Supply in 2013. I am fluent in Spanish which seems to help with some customers. I have run, Rex, Vince Hagan, McNeilus, Stevens, Erie, Con-E-Co and Standley Batcher plants, both dry batch and wet batch. I performed essential maintenance on these to maintain production. I supervised up to 25 drivers at one time and 2 asst plant personnel. I performed all responsibilities that go along with managing a concrete plant.
