About John Prinz

It all started with my uncle giving me a TRS-80 Color Computer back in the early eighties. Writing out lines and lines of code just to play through a few minutes of a “create your own adventure” story. It was a glorious time and my obsession with technology has only grown over the years. Currently I am a Professor at Conestoga College teaching the fundamentals of web design and development. Using a hands-on approach, I am covering a number of web related technologies such as HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript and various libraries(Node.js, Angular, etc.), database design, Java, C#, php, and related topics. Previously, I worked for Sherpa Marketing as a Junior Developer and at The DATA Group of Companies as an Electronic Forms Designer/Developer. Working at Sherpa was a fantastic experience. I was fortunate to work with a tight-knit group of individuals who were responsible for creating/maintaining a wide assortment of web/mobile properties for a variety of small to large companies across Canada and the US. At The DATA Group of Companies I used Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe LiveCycle Designer, Adobe InDesign, Visual Studio, and Quark to create complex forms used by some of the largest companies in Canada and the US. Prior to this work, I spent the greater part of my professional career working at Research In Motion engulfed in various aspects of the technology business. The sheer amount of knowledge I gained from my time there is worth more than any class can teach. From hands on troubleshooting to managing issues for some of the largest companies in the world, the skills I honed here will follow me for the rest of my career which I am very thankful for. I am looking to bring my enthusiasm and established technical skills to a challenging and rewarding position in your company. I pride myself in being able to adapt to new situations and tackle any obstacle in my way to success. I know my hard work and motivation will only help in your success as well.
