My career started by being the first in my family to receive a college degree. This accomplishment was a cornerstone to a rewarding and successful 30 year career in IT. Being reliable and dependable allowed my roles and responsibilities to continually expand which helped me grasp new technologies and supported my ability to embrace change. As a self-motivated individual, I challenge myself regularly and I am always looking to set the bar higher. Organization, ability to determine priorities and a rational approach to problem solving are strengths I use daily. Strong communication skills enable me to foster an environment of teamwork as well as creating effective and useful documentation for myself and others to reference when needed. I enjoy giving back with volunteering and fundraising support to several organizations. Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work with a strong emphasis on task and time management, my expertise includes: Configuration Management (CM), Release Management, Service Delivery Management, Change Management, Access Control and Process Documentation. My experience in an enterprise environment gave me responsibility of code management from development through production including Severity 1 and High-Risk code while providing 24/7, 365 on-call support to ensure all configuration requests were addressed in a timely manner. In 2019, I found myself terminated after 25 years with my former employer. COVID-19 shutdown the US economy and the travel industry. Being unemployed for the first time since I was 18 years old, I had to file for unemployment benefits. I faced many challenges for the next six months. A resilient spirit helped me to stay focused and not become discouraged. A positive attitude enabled me to persevere and handle the countless rejection notifications. In March, 2020 I accepted full time employment. I have successfully transitioned from a 30 year career IT professional, to an hourly, manufacturing role. Being driven not only to succeed, but to excel has helped in this transition. Through hard work, collaboration, and being adaptable and dependable, my abilities and skills are showcased daily. I am looking for my next challenging opportunity, wherever that may lead.
