About John Puentes

I’m a Data Scientist with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering who enjoys working on data-driven topics. I’ve worked in diverse areas — from CNC machining, polymers, and composites to additive manufacturing and semiconductors — where I learned how to approach complex challenges through data. My expertise has grown in solving problems with data-driven solutions, whether analyzing sensor signals, building models, or optimizing processes. I work across the entire data pipeline, including data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, exploratory analysis, and machine learning (using scikit-learn and PyTorch). I also support MLOps workflows, ensuring our models are scalable and production-ready. What motivates me is working on solutions that are practical and grounded in reality. I thrive in interdisciplinary teams and am always learning (currently, German ). I enjoy running, cycling, and exploring new places. I’m currently looking for new opportunities in data science where I can apply my skills to solve real-world problems across industries.
