Background
About John R. Goss
In teaching and learning, what matters most is the development of learners’ understanding of the relationships among their interests and intentions, academic disciplines, and the structuring of learning experiences by teachers and learners. It is important to distinguish discipline-based ways of knowing (how knowledge is constructed), from their applications (what individuals want to do), from the instructional practice (how academic experiences are structured), and to illustrate the influence one has upon another. Specialties: Identity and conflict in social settings Community: the construction of meaningful action Higher education: philosophy, practice and accountability
