About John Radovan

20 year Air Force veteran as a prior enlisted officer with tours in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. I have acquisition experience as a PM and operationalised the Air Force’s first unclassified, enterprise-wide, DoD private Cloud integrated artificial intelligence application - Global Synthetic Weather Radar. I spent one year at Amazon as part of a DoD-Industry talent sharing program called Education with Industry. While at Amazon, I attended their internal AI up-skilling program - Machine Learning University - and worked in their drone test and evaluation office. I wrote the original concept paper and helped found the Department of the Air Force - MIT AI Accelerator in 2019. I led this unit as the Deputy Director until my retirement in 2023. In this role I oversaw the transition of AI research to program offices and launched the Air Force AI Education program that was transitioned to OSD CDAO. In my role at MIT Open Learning, I build and manage relationships with the Federal Government and advise leadership on public sector offerings. I speak on the importance of workforce education on artificial intelligence, AI and National Security, and how to implement AI programs at scale. I’m very interested in developing AI Doctrine for defense and advancing AI education to underserved communities.
