About John Rowell

John Rowell is a qualified town planner with over 20 years experience predominantly in development assessment and approvals. John and has been working at TfA Project Group for over 10 years and has a key interest working within the energy sector and within a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. John is one of the Directors of TfA and currently fulfills the role of General Manager. During his time at TfA, John has worked on numerous retail / service station roll-out programs and large scale hazardous industry and terminals based projects. John has been instrumental in the front-end design and approvals management for a number of major oil industry and developer clients in the service station industry. He has also managed the approvals of state significant bioenergy projects and complex brownfield pipeline / infrastructure projects across numerous jurisdictions within Australia. John has applied his planning experience in various international and national settings including working within the United Kingdom for a number of years. Currently he liaises with numerous local and State government authorities all over Australia for national and international clients on major development applications and infrastructure projects. Working in a national, multi-disciplinary company with international, national and local clients, John understands the importance of integrating his skills within the broader project team to ensure all opportunities across the other disciplines of the company (design / engineering etc) are captured. John is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and maintains an active presence in a number of organisations within the development industry. He completed a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Queensland in 2001.
