About John Russo

John has been with Pallett Valo since and joined the Partnership in 2008. In his current role as Managing Partner, John is responsible for guiding the firm’s Canadian and international strategies while championing the firm’s core beliefs and philosophy. Through his leadership, he strives to incorporate the firm’s values of Excellence, Integrity and Respect in everyday operations and believes that the firm’s success is measured through the success of our clients. John believes the best way to serve clients is to understand their industry and business environment and align them with the right expertise, experience and value. John has a broad and diverse commercial litigation practice. John regularly represents clients in complex business litigation disputes, real estate litigation, commercial tenancy disputes, defamation, product liability, expropriation, shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, creditor remedies, PPSA security disputes, asset recovery, enforcement of security and provincial offences and regulatory matters. His clients range from mid-size and large companies across a number of industry sectors, financial institutions, religious and charitable organizations. John believes in being actively involved in his community. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Peel Region from 2011-2017. During his time with the United Way of Peel Region, John was the Chair of the Board for 2015 and 2016. In this role, he worked closely with local government and the community agencies who received funding from the United Way of Peel Region. John was recently featured in the Mississauga News for his work in advising clients on expropriation matters relating to the Hurontario LRT. He has also spoken publicly and presented to clients on numerous occasions about: “Managing Credit Risk In Your Business”, a topic that that has meaning and touches almost every business.
