About John S. Berry

As the CEO of Berry Law, John champions the rights of veterans and supports and defends the constitutional rights of all Americans. As a lawyer John works in the areas of veterans' disability appeals, and personal injury and criminal defense. Berry Law has secured over $450 million in backpay awards for Veterans. The leadership skills John learned during military service have helped Berry Law reach the INC list of fastest growing companies in America 7 years in a row. Berry is most proud of the awards his team has won related to serving veterans and service members to include: Department of Labor Hire Vets Platinum Medalion, Employer Support of Guard and Reserve Pro Patria Award, Military Times Best for Vets Employer, and VETS Index Recognized Employer. John served as an infantry officer in the United States Army and later as a logistician in the Nebraska National Guard. His military service forged the resilience, diligence, tactical skills, and boldness to dominate as a lawyer and business owner. John served as a platoon leader in Bosnia during Operation Join Forge and a company commander in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and was inducted into the Nebraska National Guard Regional Training Institute Hall of Fame. HIs father, John Stevens Berry Sr, a Vietnam Veteran, began this firm over 50 years ago to defend the constitutional rights of Americans, one client at a time. John is a proud College of William & Mary alum. He is also a Creighton University School of Law grad and Bluejay basketball fan. John received advanced legal training from the National Criminal Defense College and the Gerry Spece Trial Lawyers College. John's podcast “Veteran Led” shares lessons learned and stories from inspiring Veterans who leverage military skills to build even bigger futures in civilian leadership and entrepreneurship.
