About John Samyn

Hi there! I'm John Samyn, an intelligence specialist in the United States coastguard. I started my journey in July 2020 when I joined the United States Coast Guard. My initial assignment was aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sangamon in East Peoria, IL, from September 2020 to September 2022 conducting Aids to Navigation missions along the Illinois river. Always eager to grow and contribute more, I seized the opportunity to attend Intelligence Specialist school in September 2022. Equipped with new knowledge and expertise, I currently serve at the U.S. Coast Guard International Ice Patrol as an intelligence specialist where I utilize synthetic aperture radar and optical sensor satellite platforms to analysis the iceberg population in the north Atlantic. Looking ahead, I'm excited to pursue a career in cybersecurity. My goal is to combine my intelligence background with cutting-edge cybersecurity strategies to defend against evolving threats in our digital landscape. Currently, I'm preparing to elevate my cybersecurity expertise through dedicated studies at the University of Springfield. I am eager to dive into this rapidly evolving field and apply my intelligence background to address digital security challenges.
