I am a commercial and intellectual property lawyer and registered trademark agent, with a significant interest and background in software and technology. I have a computer science degree and many years of experience as a software developer before I turned my focus to law. I enjoy working through the details of complex commercial relationships and transactions, including: supplier and customer service agreements, applying for and enforcing registered trademarks, licensing arrangements, website terms of use, privacy policies, and mergers & acquisitions. I bring my problem solving skills and positive attitude to my practice and relationships with clients. I have helped clients from new software start-ups in the very first stages of their businesses to multi-national corporations that span the globe. My practice covers a wide range of industries, including: telecommunications, health information technology, geomatics, software as a service, cloud services, educational and business software, oil & gas, oil & gas services, petrochemicals, aviation, power generation, green power generation, food production, construction, and manufacturing.
