As a graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at University of New Haven, I am passionate about serving the community in a positive way. I am seeking a challenging career in Probation or Investigative Services that will allow me to utilize and enhance my skills and fulfill my passion for criminal justice. My work responsibilities at the Chester County Youth Center, internship with the Connecticut Judicial Branch Bridgeport probation office, along with my coursework completion in Criminology, Crime Scene Investigation, and Forensic Science Lab make me a well-qualified candidate. Qualifications • Experience with supervising children and ensuring safety at Chester County Youth Center • Interacted with children and assisted with planning and overseeing activities • Preparation and writing of Pre-Sentencing Investigation (PSI) reports • Experience with interviewing defendants, defendant family members, and victims • Research information obtained during defendant interviews and summarize relevant records • Familiar with court proceedings and sentence hearings • Experience with Level of Service Inventory (LSI) tool used for offender risk assessment Administrative/Personal • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, office machines and computer equipment • Strong organization skills and can take on additional responsibilities when needed • Ability to work independently or with others in a team setting • Excellent research, interpersonal and written skills • Strong sense of integrity, honesty and the need to help both victims and offenders Crime Scene Investigation coursework • Gained skills relevant to criminal and crime scene investigations • Exercised skills in a mock crime scene investigation based on real-life case • Learned how to collect evidence and perform forensic analysis and testing
