About John Schitka

Me in a Nutshell Undergraduate degree in psychology from McMaster University. Currently a masters degree candidate (MBA, Odette School of Business, University of Windsor) graduating in June 2010. On graduating from McMaster University I worked as a Probation and Parole Officer for the Province of Ontario for 14 years, successfully completing the two year long barrier examination process to achieve master degree level equivalency for payroll purposes. During that time in addition to my regular duties I helped develop and launch an adult diversion program for offenders in the Peel region and began working in the area of adult education. After leaving the civil service I began teaching technology to adults at a private career college and obtained and maintained several related industry as well as adult education certifications. While there I helped develop course curriculum as well as create related courseware. Toward the end of my 5 years at the career college I was afforded the opportunity to co-author textbooks for Course Technology, a division of Thompson Publishing for use in colleges throughout North America and indeed world wide. Creating the text books afforded the opportunity to do everything from market research to planning and outlining content to authoring and working with teams of subject matter experts, editors and related staff. In 2006 I made my most recent transition to Sandvine Inc. in Waterloo, Ontario, where I began writing courseware and training customers on proprietary technologies as well as managing the training solutions, before migrating to product management. In early 2008 I began working with the product management team driving the cradle to grave product process for two of the products, providing in depth and forward looking information to the field and assisting with RFP/RFI/RFQ responses. During this time I became Pragmatic Marketing Certified in market driven product management. Specialties: Pragmatic Marketing Certified in Market Driven Product Management.
