With a background in audio engineering and a passion for electronics, John has spent the majority of his career working in the public safety and radio communications field.John's previous experience as the Radio System Administrator for the Washington County Sheriff's Department in Wisconsin saw him managing and maintaining a complex Harris P25 Phase I and II Simulcast VHF/700mhz trunked system, as well as overseeing the county's other communication networks, including a Nokia microwave network, simulcast paging, interop base stations, and dispatch consoles.John's dedication to improving public safety communications has seen him serve on multiple committees and panels, and he believes that building relationships, sharing information and best practices has been a key to his success. He has also been an active volunteer fire fighter and EMT in his community.In addition to his professional experience, John is also a credentialed All Hazard Communication Unit Leader (COML) and Communication Technician (COMT) in the state of Wisconsin, and has assisted public safety agencies with communications plans and interoperability in a variety of exercises, events, and major operations such as presidential campaigns, capital protests, and the USGA Golf Tournament in Erin Hills. In 2018, he became a NWCG COMT and now takes part in annual wildland fire assignments across the USA and mentors other COMT trainees.
