About John Shavinsky

John is the lead aviation advisor within ITE responsible for sourcing, reviewing and advising on all aviation industry related transactions and investments. Previously, John was the Senior Consultant for Asset Acquisitions and Trading at Willis Lease Finance Corp.(WLFC), which is a leader in the aviation industry that provides aviation services, aircraft and engine leasing, and other aircraft-related products to commercial airlines, engine manufacturers, and MRO facilities worldwide. In 2015, John launched his consulting firm, LAS Consulting, in response to the needs of the commercial aviation industry's rapid expansion by providing advisory and project management services in the areas of aircraft acquisition, aircraft leasing, aircraft specification development, technical support, and asset management. Clients could include lessors, banks, financial institutions, private equity or hedge funds, airlines and other organizations that either currently have a fleet of aircraft or desire to expand their business operations by acquiring aircraft. Through April of 2014, John was the Chief Operating Officer of Intrepid Aviation. Prior to joining Intrepid in June 2011, John was with CIT Aerospace for 11 years, most recently as Senior Vice President in charge of New Aircraft Acquisitions, Strategic Planning, Project Management and Technical Services. John began his career as an engineer with Boeing Commercial Aircraft, with assignments in Flight Test, Customer Training, Flight Crew Operations and Customer Engineering. He then moved to International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), where he was Assistant Vice President responsible for aircraft configuration and purchasing. John is a commercial pilot and holds a J.D. from the Seattle University School of Law and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He also serves on the Industry and Professional Advisory Council (IPAC) for the Penn State School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
