I am a highly versatile mechanical engineer with over 18 years of experience driving revenue growth by targeting product design or upgrades to address customer needs. These products have run the gamut between small night vision devices to steel producing and bulk material handling equipment. Customers have ranged from military contractors to utility companies and international steel corporations. While I have been successful working on solo projects, many have involved cross-functional teams and offices or customers around the world. A partial list of interesting experiences include- Lead efforts to perform experiments and FEA to reduce every gram possible from weapon-mounted night vision scopes to optimize weight and improve bid competitiveness- Improved processes to reduce product testing costs 25%- Built soft skills by multitasking projects that involved visiting customers, preparing quotes, designing in Inventor, and project management after quote was sold through production & commissioning of custom industrial printing systems while growing revenue 10% annually- Designed in SolidWorks custom 4-axis alignment stages with micron level precision with required large inner opening for cutting-edge production process- Detailed layout drawings and operating budgets for new production facility and assisted with construction, saving unnecessary operating costs- Wrote proposals for upgrades to existing bulk material handling equipment for domestic and international customers including layouts in AutoCAD or Inventor, internal budgets in Microsoft Excel and SAP, PowerPoints, justification with ROI information in Microsoft Word, and schedules in Microsoft Project. These efforts lead to record sales for our small retrofits group. Beyond my BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA, I have an Engineer-In-Training Certification (PE exam pending sufficient experience under multiple PEs).
