About John Shephard

As an experienced people, process and operations leader, I take great pride in delivering results against challenging business KPIs and employee satisfaction score targets. I am extremely goal oriented, I work relentlessly to improve processes & tools and I am passionate about helping others develop themselves all with the aim of delivering a 5-star experience to my team, clients and end-users! Over the last 25 years, I've had the pleasure of leading multiple international teams; most frequently in Center of Excellence environments, but also remotely. My experience spans the insurance, accounts receivable and airline industries. While meeting; and frequently exceeding, the business goals has been a rewarding achievement, the part of my career I've enjoyed more has been learning to communicate for impact, supporting my teams during times of change, shaping the direction and strategy of the organizations I've been a part of and building/fostering relationships with business partners and clients. Work has changed dramatically over time. I've been a part of the shift from e-mail and spreadsheet management, to improved CRMs, Slack, Miro, Agile, Design thinking, etc. Clearly the new norm of Town Halls and Cultural Road Shows are better at engaging and embracing the workforce, rather than sending long and boring e-mails. While remote and hybrid working are now key challenges, I've embraced the flexibility of these concepts for over 10 years and know first-hand the delicacy needed to really connect with my team by leveraging new technology and being a little creative. It's important to stay ahead of these trends and learn to support the needs and norms of the workforce/business as it evolves and I'm blessed that this comes to me naturally. Looking forward, I'm excited at the opportunity to join a multinational/multicultural team where we can make a positive difference in the lives of our customers. As my skills are focused on the leadership and development of operational teams, I'm not bound by industry and actually enjoy having experience across various areas where I can continue to learn and grow as well.
