About John Sims

I thoroughly enjoyed a military career that began in 1985 and ended in 2007. What a ride! Now that it's behind me and left to those younger, I can honestly say the journey in building that career was the reward. The people and challenges I encountered along the way added value to my life and I wouldn't change those experiences for anything. Well, maybe a couple of them. I enjoy travel and learning. I guess growing up in a county with only one red light led to my desire to go, see, and do. I can't sit in a cubicle. I won't be bored in exchange for income. I want to further my business knowledge and experience in an exciting industry using a new business model. This is exactly what I found with Lake Homes Realty; an opportunity to learn from local industry leaders. The road from First grade and Ms. Gunn's reading of "Barry The Great St. Barnard"(yep, my middle name is Barry) has been a long and adventurous one! Along the way I've learned leadership and education are symbiotic. A primary duty of leaders is providing the assistance and education needed to help others reach their goals. Knowing how individuals learn and retain the experience and information is critical is helping them achieve those goals. If they aren't growing, you probably aren't leading. After moving 31 times in 30 years (no lie!) My wife, CJ, and I are in our forever home in Birmingham, AL.I hope. We enjoy the culture of this vibrant town for foodies. An added bonus is the friend and family support resulting from CJ's growing up here. My roots aren't too far away either. Athens, GA, family, and all things Georgia Bulldogs are right down I-20E!
