Proven leader in production hardrock mining. Experienced economic mine geologist in low sulfidation epithermal narrow vein high grade Au/Ag, Carlin-type and IR gold deposits in the Northern Nevada Rift and Tintina Gold Belt (Alaska). Demonstrated history of working narrow-vein underground mining with long hole, cut and fill, shrink, slusher, Alimak mining methods along with large scale massive UG/OP mining processes and their reconciliation. Possessing strong research skills in Vulcan, GEMS, Deswik, UG mapping, reconciliation, resource estimation with a commitment to SAFE, timely production to develop realistic production profiles. Proven ability to build and continually develop ore control teams. I have lead teams through the mining life cycle from early-stage exploration, pre-feasibility, feasibility, construction, full scale operations, and reclamation. Comfortable around toe in helicopter landings and driving long distances in reverse up ramps and grizzly slaying. Develop my teams and build them for success utilizing industry standards as a baseline coupled with leading edge technology implementation. Steward of our ore bodies to ensure proper due diligence, science, and data collection is being conducted with appropriate QAQC protocols. Preparation of fit for purpose budgeting with targeting/strategic drill planning all aligned to deliver on production KPI. Empower, motivate, drive change, resource the team to do their job more efficiently, in addition to upskill, active cross functional collaboration and career development planning. Operated annual budgets in the neighborhood of $50M USD and teams 50-100 plus additional business partner contractors. 2024 Project Updates: 1. Building a training system to transition a green workforce coming out of mining schools to adapt and be successful in the mining environment applying mining geology. Working towards developing the digital mines of tomorrow. Testing solutions for feasibility and application. Modernizing workflows and strategizing to get the most out of our data. Why do I do this? Mining is my passion and I enjoy helping people understand complexities across the mining value chain. Also that mining is critical to our way of life as is the responsible stewardship of our planet and the communities we work in. Furthermore, teaching and developing these teams has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Our people, our teams are the most valuable resource, luckily for us it can be renewable-pay it forward.
