This includes work on housing, encouraging business to adopt more age-friendly business practices, mature age employment and projects to better safeguard vulnerable seniors from the impact of natural disasters. Most recent submission prepared was to the Queensland Human Rights Commission Review of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act, COTA Queensland is advocating for the removal of the remaining provisions that enable compulsory age based retirement in certain occupations. Other major projects included being a member of the Queensland Government Advisory Taskforce on Residential Transition for Ageing Queenslanders, work on the legislative reviews of Manufactured Home Parks and Retirement Villages, and co-organised, with a colleague from the International Federation of Ageing, the program for the 2016 International Federation of Ageing Global Conference held in Brisbane.
