About John Steenson

I have been working in the IT Process / Program / Project Management roles for a number of years. In many of these roles I have been able to uncover data elements that help track and provide accurate progress statistics to help take the emotion out of tracking and managing portfolios. Being able to present the facts of the process helps to understand and uncover the real story of what is happening with the effort, and bring attention to where it is needed.As a manager of IT processes, projects, and teams, I have enhanced business processes bringing effective solutions in large enterprises, as well as small companies. I would analyze the current state of the business processes and assess the pain areas, design a solution to solve the business problem, and bring the change into the organization with continual improvement activities, effectively implementing the change with minimal impact to ongoing processes.I have worked with several Agile Scrum teams to facilitate the adaptation of their production deployments into their release process - managing the risk and communicating the change, while ensuring that the process is followed confirming the systems are properly tested, etc. I have been a stakeholder and team member of Scrum teams working in a large scale Agile framework. I am currently Certified as a Scrum Master and enjoy working with opportunities that capitalize on my vast experiences and capabilities.My mission in my life, and career, is to make a difference by helping others. This is visible in the business world by enhanced processes and systems which provide a better working environment for those involved. I have evaluated existing systems, designed and implemented solutions, managed expectations, facilitated transitions, trained users, and administered systems that have solved business problems and enhanced processes in many effective solutions.In my personal life, I enjoy connecting people together or with a cause to help satisfy their needs and/or purpose. As a Wellness Advocate for a number of years, I help people learn to listen to their body and use the PIVA process to bring God into the evaluation of proven wellness strategies that may or may not fit into their lives.
