About John Strother

I currently serve as a manager within Deloitte's modeling advisory practice, Deloitte's dedicated financial modeling team. I focus on helping multi-billion dollar companies manage their portfolios through efficient, tech-enabled modeling ecosystems. As a member of Deloitte's Global Modeling Innovation Council, I look for ways to leverage technology to improve organizations modeling capabilities. My interest in technology has led me to teach myself how to code and I lead the technical delivery of Deloitte US' Excel-Hybrid Agile modeling capability. This hybrid modeling approach combines Excel with common database and visualization tools, such as SQL and PowerBI, allowing companies to retain the flexibility of Excel while also gaining some of the automation and governance capabilities of cloud solutions. I'm a lifetime Texan that enjoys anything outdoors and travel-related, recently picking up photography to document it all. I support a variety of conservation efforts and will talk for hours on it if you let me go.
