About John Syc

From a career as a psychotherapist dedicated to men's mental health, my path has led me to a more specialized focus. As an adult-identified 2/e-autistic adult, I discovered firsthand that traditional mental health models did not fully encompass my experiences and needs, leading me to embrace humanistic models such as Dabrowski's Theory of Positive Disintegration. The path of positive disintegration allowed me to understand the intersectionality of giftedness and autism. Today, as the founder of Authentic Perspectives, I offer specialized psychological services to other gifted adults. I embody empathy, patience, and understanding in my work. Active listening and critical thinking skills are not just tools of my trade but in my essence. I am approachable and work as a co-creator with my clients, recognizing that I am merely a guide in their journey. My work is conscientious, yet it remains innovative and intuitive, reflecting the complexities of the human experience. The striving towards mastery is not simply a professional goal but a personal commitment to providing the best support. Authentic Perspectives is not just a provider of services but a beacon of leadership in the transformative journey of gifted adults. I envisage a community where gifted adults become psychologically whole and guided toward their genuine selves. This experience radiates outwards, enhancing relationships and positively impacting society.
