About John Tilton

25+ years of factory floor experience at maintaining automated machinery and systems for manufacturing. My core professional attribute is my ability to troubleshoot and program Programmable Logic Controllers. I am formally trained and am familiar with the Rockwell Automation RSLogix / Studio instruction set and have been going online to troubleshoot and make edits to Allen Bradley PLCs and HMI s for my last three employers. I also have formal training and experience with Siemens Step 7 SIMATIC PLCs. Broadly, I am a journeyman-experienced technician of electrical controls, having an in-depth knowledge in interpreting electrical schematics, troubleshooting and making repairs at the system, device and sub-component levels, from three-phase power distribution to the circuit board level. My current expertise is in the Medical Device industry employing plastic injection molding machines having either electric servomotor or hydraulic controls, and their auxiliary equipment including assembly and ultrasonic welding, vision inspection, material drying, chill water equipment, and central vacuum material handling systems. My previous experiences have included plastics extrusion, offset printing presses and finishing equipment, machine tool gantry loaders, palletizing conveyor and assembly systems. In my spare time, I enjoy putting my electronics schooling to use building synthesizers from kits to make "music."
