About John Tran

Dr. John Tran began his post-secondary education at the University of Calgary, where he studied biological sciences. In 2002, he was accepted into the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Alberta. In 2004, Dr. Tran earned his Bachelor Degree in Medical Science and subsequently, in 2006, his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Tran was the top graduate in his class, receiving the Alberta Dental Association Gold Medal of Recognition. In addition, he was awarded certificates of recognition from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists and the American Association of Periodontology. Upon graduation, Dr. Tran began his career at Signal Hill Dental Centre. Over the past six years, he has enjoyed helping patients increase and maintain their oral health, especially as it pertains to their overall well-being. Dr. Tran provides all aspects of general dentistry to his patients, with a keen interest in Invisalign orthodontics, cosmetic dental makeovers, dental implant restorations, and conservative porcelain restorations. Dr. Tran is an advocate for continuing education and continually exceeds the requirements set out by the Alberta Dental Association to maintain a dental license. Recently, Dr. Tran has accepted a position as an instructor with Frontier Institute. He also has completed several courses at the Las Vegas Institute, some of which include special hands-on training with some of his own patients from Signal Hill Dental Centre. In addition, Dr. Tran is currently working toward a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Tran is affiliated with professional associations including the Alberta Dental Association and College, the Canadian Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Tran’s practice is able to provide several unique treatment options including Invisalign orthodontics, Lumineers minimally invasive veneers, veneers, and sedation dentistry.
