About John Vega

Just retired as a member of the Commander's Action Group at Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) where I applied 20 years of leadership, intelligence analysis experience, with a Psychology education and Instructor background to support the command's strategic planning, engagement, and outreach. I leveraged my skills to organize and execute events that showcase SOCSOUTH's capabilities, achievements, and partnerships to key stakeholders, such as senior leaders, policymakers, allies, and the public. I also contributed to the development and implementation of the command's vision, mission, and goals, ensuring alignment with the U.S. Southern Command and the Department of Defense. Previously, I served as the U.S. Air Force Senior Enlisted Leader of the Intelligence Division at SOCSOUTH, where I led and mentored many teams of intelligence professionals and enabled the command's operational and tactical intelligence support. I am passionate about coaching, intelligence, psychology, and bringing positive and unique perspectives and experiences to the team. I am committed to excellence, innovation, and collaboration in everything I do.
