About John Veigel

The bulk of my professional career has been with Varriale Construction and Gallery Homes by Varriale. Prior to being laid off in 2012 I had been the Financial Manager of Gallery Homes by Varriale and related companies for a number of years. I have extensive experience in all phases of real estate development, construction (both commercial and residential), and investment issues.I was initially hired in 1995 with no financial or computer skills by the homebuilding company Varriale Construction. Gallery Homes was formed in to take over the duties of homebuilding as Varriale Construction morphed into a development partnership entity and it became the managing partner of Primeland Development Company, also formed in I set up each new company's accounting systems in Quickbooks, obtained EIN’s, obtained bank accounts, and placed insurance. Later, I would do the same for Primeland Investment Group, BridgeTower Owners’ Association, Mercato Center, LLC, and Mercato Coffee House.I was instrumental in improving project codes to better track expenses and budget line items and became highly skilled in financial statements, reporting, budgeting, analysis, and forecasting through the design, creation and maintenance of spreadsheets first with QuattroPro and later with Excel. These spreadsheet applications were also used to develop a project cost estimation system that was extremely accurate and effective. Also, I created a method for the complicated tracking of bank loans and notes receivable and payable among different business entities and partners.I have extensive experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll generation for both hourly and salaried personnel, payroll taxes, sales tax, insurance and banking issues, researching and reporting on special projects, maintaining positive relationships with outside and team personnel, auditing and archiving financial records, profit and loss statements, and the forecasting of cash flow.
