About John Volmink
After achieving his Honours in economics from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, John joined JPMorgan as an analyst in Mergers and Acquisitions. He completed a rigorous training course in New York and returned to South Africa where he worked on various local and international projects. During his tenure at JPMorgan, John was the lead analyst advising Alexander Forbes on their $1,200mm take private transaction. John was also the lead analyst on United Bank for Africa's $300mm international equity offering. John also participated in a successful defence of a JSE Top 40 corporate client against a hostile bid by activist investors. In 2009, John co-founded Diprente Films, a media company which specialises in the production of television, film and digital content. Diprente produced the two time Intl Emmy nominated Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola. Diprente has also produced Bantu Hour (TV), Catching Feelings (Film), The Mayor (TV) among other projects and is in various stages of development on a number of projects. John is responsible for the overall management of the company, operations and development and implementation of strategy.
