About John W Scott

John Scott, previously a founding, senior partner of CEI Architecture, is a Vice President of HDR Architecture Associates, Inc. following a July, 2015 merger with the global A&E practice of HDR. With over 4 decades of professional involvement in public and private developments, he has lead projects in multiple sectors, with a particular focus on education, office and technology-oriented facilities, including airport infrastructure. John is licensed to practice in British Columbia, Alberta, and Washington State. He is recognized as a skilled planner and architect in many jurisdictions, responsible for orchestrating rezoning and development approvals for challenging private and public sector projects. John has a long history of leadership in the architecture and planning community. He is currently a Councilor of the Architectural Institute of B.C, a Fellow of the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada, a former director of NAIOP, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, past chair of the NAIOP membership committee, a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, a mentor and competition judge for the NAIOP sponsored University Challenge, a past chair of the West Vancouver and Calgary Heritage Committees, and has been a leader or member of several other industry associations and organizations throughout his career.
