Experienced Texas attorney, veteran and entrepreneur with a Series 7 license background, engaged in an energy, real estate and corporate counsel practice providing A&D due diligence analysis, title examination & curative, transaction & commercial contracts work, conveyancing, counsel on environmental permitting & regulatory compliance, and support during eminent domain & land use litigation. Legal career includes roles as In-House Counsel with CenterPoint Energy, In-House Land Representative at Shell and as an Attorney-Landman for ConocoPhillips and Petrohawk. Texas trial attorney career involves 1st & 2nd chair jury and bench trials, including a pro-plaintiff jury verdict secured in Harris County during my first year of practice, sitting 2nd chair to a Percy Foreman protege. Major law firm experience representing corporate clients in environmental toxic tort, product liability & railroad injury litigation, together with other CGL and insurance defense work. Energy Management & project management role includes negotiating & acquiring oil, gas & mineral leases, easements & rights-of-way, construction & road access issues, evaluating & resolving surface damage claims, lease management, lease & title analysis, division order analysis, mineral royalty calculation & related curative, mapping & database work (Tobin, ArcGIS) and title clearance work on drilling programs across Texas, other Mid-Continent & Gulf states, the Marcellus Shale & Rockies. International law experience gained with the U.S. State Department (USAID), the U.N. and NATO while serving as a soldier in war-torn Bosnia. A licensed Texas attorney since I was admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas, in 2006.
