About John Wharton

John is a Commercial Real Estate Advisor with 25 years of experience successfully originating, managing, and leasing over 7 million square feet of commercial assets with transaction volume totaling well over $2 billion in value. As an industry leader, John possesses deep broker connections, an extensive and broad reaching real estate network, vast market knowledge and strong communication and negotiation skills that optimize strategic initiatives and value creation. John is responsible for leasing Monday Properties’ commercial office portfolio in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. For over 17 years, John has directed the firm’s leasing activities by creating strong relationships with tenants and real estate brokers. He is responsible for negotiations on behalf of the firm and its institutional partners. John has been instrumental in several noteworthy transactions where tenants have relocated to the Northern Virginia market, including Raytheon Technologies’ global HQ, Nestle USA, Humana Inc, and Sands Capital Management. Prior to joining Monday Properties, John was a leasing Director for Equity Office Properties where he was responsible for Equity Office’s Northern Virginia portfolio. John earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. He is a Board Member of NAIOP’s Northern Virginia chapter, serves on the board of The Arlington Real Estate Group and an active member of Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association (CREBA).
