About John Winterbottom

I have 25 years experience in Geology in a range of hard rock commodities including gold, base metals, and laterite nickel / cobalt with some Iron Ore and bituminous coal experience, open-pit and underground. Over this time I have managed large and small geological technical groups from single mine to multi-operational scenarios and have extensive resource estimation skills using a number of estimation techniques. I am experienced in developing projects from near mine exploration phases to operating mines from drilling and geological interpretation through to resource estimation, preparing technical reports for public releases (JORC, NI43-101) and mining. I am conversant with a number of mining software packages including Micromine, Vulcan and Surpac as well as MS Office suite and database management including the use of Datashed and AcQuire software. I have been involved in project evaluation through various due diligence studies, project advancement through advanced exploration, PEA, PFS and DFS phases, as well as optimised existing mine sites to obtain more cost effective and efficient operations through mentoring and training Geological professionals and changes in operational processes. I have extensive experience and am committed to continuous improvement initiatives in an attempt to strive for better operational outcomes.
