I am the Group Marketing Manager for Smiths Metal Centres Limited and manage the entire marketing mix for 8 Group Businesses, including traditional stockholding, aerospace, motorsport, MRO, extruded profiles, partitioning systems, and engineering steels. I have worked in this role for over eight years, and my activity is varied, challenging and hands-on. I design, hand-code, and implement all web assets for the business, including graphic design and SEO development, while working to promote a consistent brand for each business entity. I also produce the marketing collateral for these businesses, from brochures and technical datasheets to corporate videos. Working with the Managing Director, I devise and implement individual marketing plans for all companies within the Group. My customers are essentially the managers of these businesses. In 2022, a won a Silver Award at the National Lens Award for videography in the engineering category. Smiths is built around a traditional stockholding business of 13 UK service centres, providing local material support on a national basis. The motorsport division (Smiths High Performance) supplies alloys and plastics predominantly to the Formula 1 sector. Smiths Advanced Metal provides engineering raw material support to the aerospace sector while their sub-division, Smiths MRO, supports the global Aerospace MRO market. Smiths Building Systems is a new business that sells office partitioning systems and tile trims, while Smiths Profiles is an established business selling aluminium extrusions.
