About Johnathan Ceja

I am an individual who loves solving mysteries and figuring out the unexpected. Surprising outcomes give me a thrill. With a strong inclination towards Mathematics and Computer Science I decided to begin a career in Data Analytics, a field that brings all of that together. Currently, I work full-time as a Data Analyst the Los Angeles Unified School District. My primary responsibilities involve managing, analyzing, and visualizing large student and school datasets in an attempt to assist my school district with increasing the academic performance and wellness of our students. I love to explore data and critically think about different ways to solve problems. I love revealing deep insights and creatively looking for trends that lie hidden in data using a mixture of software and technique. Communicating business solutions to my shareholders in creative, clear ways is a staple in my work. I take pride in having a variety of skills at my disposal. The most relevant tools that I use on a day to day basis include R, SQL, Python, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, and cloud based databases such as Snowflake/OracleBI. I’m not done learning and I don’t think I ever will be as long as I am able. Even with a master’s degree in Data Science, I realize that there is so much more technology and techniques available to be studied and implemented that will open doors of innovation in how I perform my work. As I learn more about automation, machine learning, and coding, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the breadth of powerful applications that are still out there being developed.
