About Johnathan Ho

I have been working for over a decade in studio and agency environments with the goal of engaging and retaining players with practical but aesthetic UI and UX design, and visually stunning game graphics and assets. I have worked on games and apps designed for mobile, tablet, and browser-based platforms, as well as for land-based casinos in Vegas, Illinois and Oklahoma. As part of an agency environment, I liaise regularly with various studio departments, factory and warehouse vendors, and front-facing with clients to bring projects from concept to production. For six years, I’ve also functioned in a managerial role, managing a team of direct reports and mentoring junior artists and animators as both Senior Artist and Art Director. I received my technical illustration training at Sheridan College, where I graduated with a B.A.A. in 2008, and after working my way up to my current role as Art Director, I enrolled in the M.B.A. part-time program at the Schulich School of Business (York University), specializing in Marketing Management and Brand Strategy, formally finishing all of my courses at the start of August. “Be wonderfully weird” is my motto, and I’m always looking for creative and outside-the-box solutions to problems, with the mentality that there’s always more to learn.
