About Johnny Velez
I have 19 years of military experience between the Air Force and the New York Guard( NY State Defense Force). Three of those Air Force years administrating an Aeromedical Patient Staging Squadron as an Air Reserve Technician. I have 26 years of paralegal experience. Three in the private sector and 23 in the public sector. During Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene (August 26 thru 29 2011), managed a Hurricane Shelter/ Evacuation center in accordance with the NYC Coastal Storm Plan for three days. Recently worked Superstorm Sandy at NYC OEM logistics warehouse assisting in sourcing, coordinating and dispensing needed equipment and supplies for the response and initial recovery efforts. Currently pursuing my PhD at Capella. The goal is to use my experience and Master degree in Emergency Management to make a positive contribution to the EM community. I will make a difference in people's lives.
