It is undeniable that the global COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally transformed the health insurance sector. Coupled with the ongoing challenges of nontraditional competitors, cyber risk, modernization initiatives, and changing customer expectations, the industry is in a state of unprecedented change. This will require innovators who understand the sector’s complexities; as a seasoned expert on transformative change, I understand these nuances and am positioned for continued success. With my expertise in commercial healthcare plan operations, I am a leader who champions process improvement, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, and other efforts to improve efficiency. Undaunted by seemingly insurmountable challenges, when the Affordable Care Act (ACA) upended the traditional healthcare model, I ensured that the company complied with new regulations. In my current role, I am a key member of the company’s COVID-19 task force. I partner with senior leadership to operationalize new claims requirements for coronavirus testing and treatment. I also authored the company’s business continuity plan and executed it, ensuring no interruption of service to any of our customers. By focusing on market problems, I have been able to scale growth in enrollment by a factor of 10 and have expanded the company’s offerings into 3 additional jurisdictions.
