About Jon Austin

Through my courses of study at Michigan State University’s James Madison College, I have conducted an immense amount of research into laws, legislation, legal processes, health care, professional organizations, and ethics. Due to the nature of James Madison College, I also have a variety of writing experience including many analyses, critical essays, formal research, and ethical opinion papers. In addition to my academics, I have 4 years of office experience between my positions at DRM Genesis and the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. I have learned valuable office skills including scheduling, managing phone systems, maintaining data systems, mass mailings, and professional use of the Microsoft Office suite. Because of this experience, I am very comfortable on the phone and can meet strict timelines. While at the MHA, I worked on projects for several departments including HR, Government Affairs, Events, and the Keystone Center. Tasks for these projects included researching medical and government policy, recordkeeping, editing for the Monday Report, working with a team to brainstorm and plan, and reporting on congressional committee meetings relating to healthcare. I brought the skills that I gained from my time at the MHA with me to DRM Genesis Home Healthcare Providers. There, I spearheaded the implementation of a new Human Resources cloud-based storage program, titled Bamboo HR, and assisted in leading a team effort to gain Joint Commission certification and bring the practice up to compliance with Government Medicaid Standards.
