About Jon Bergenheim

I have a strong background in research and development of audio signal processing algorithms focusing on high performance while maintaining a small footprint. I am used to take projects all the way from idea to a released product (specification, research, implementation, coordination of developers, coordination of QA and finally evaluation). I have filed 5-10 patents. During the last 5 years I have focused more on the organization and execution side of software development. Making sure the organization is well set-up with well defined areas of responsibility is the key to many things. The agile vs waterfall discussion is also something that interest me and I have spent large part of my work to implement and adjust different flavors of agile. I have had intense scrum coaching and has since then agile-coached my own teams. Software architecture is another area of interest of mine. I have worked with code that has been un-maintainable and that made me appreciate clean APIs and scalable solutions. The difficult part is to deliver clean code under time pressure. Build systems and other tools used need to allow for collaboration and fast deliveries. Building teams is also fun. I am a strong believer in team work where a team is responsible for a delivery together. The team members should not be copies of each other but in order to allow for knowledge sharing there need to be overlapping competences. With a good team structure it is possible to deliver fast with high quality. The team will also be robust against any losses of members as no one should have skills that no other team members have. From the time where I was running my own company I have further Human resources and legal experience from licensing contracts and recruitment. Also experienced in Swedish tax/finance and employer regulations.
