About Jon Buckley

For over 20 years in the commercial real estate industry, I have been partnering with private, public, and institutional investors to develop and execute their investment strategies. Our group specializes in the acquisition and disposition of shopping centers, anchored strip malls and plazas, street-front retail properties, mixed-use development sites, and single-tenant assets across Western Canada. Through varying market conditions, our team draws on our collective experience in all retail property types to continually add value for our clients. Though we see consistent activity across all types, there has been a recent surge in demand for stand-alone, single-tenant properties anchored by strong national covenants. Between 2018-2022, we advised on 103 single-tenant transactions, totaling over $470.6M in transaction value. Our team prioritizes building longstanding relationships with our clients and offering a tailored approach to each portfolio and transaction. We use our network, databasing and analysis contacts, retail properties), and knowledge of the retail landscape for core, secondary, and tertiary markets to match qualified buyers with desirable assets. I, alongside two other partners, co-founded Form Retail Advisors (“Form”), a full-service retail brokerage, in 2010. Form was successfully acquired in 2019 by Marcus & Millichap, one of the leading investment sales brokerages in North America.
