About Jon Buerge

I work in assurance at MarksNelson, an advisory firm in Overland Park, KS. I graduated from William Woods University in April 2022 with a BS in Accounting, and achieved my MBA from William Woods in April 2023. In 2025 I received my CPA license.During my junior year of high school, I discovered my fascination of the Accounting realm. Now, as I'm in the workforce, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I absolutely love the importance of attention to detail this field requires and how everything has its designated place. I have come to purely enjoy the tedious work. Many people I know think Accounting is only sitting at a desk crunching numbers all day, but, let's be honest, sitting in a comfy chair for most of the day isn’t so bad. Although they are somewhat correct, it is as much a people business as it is about numbers. I thoroughly enjoy my career field and I hope to make an impact on people’s lives in a way that truly matters to them.Outside of Accounting, I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing soccer, fishing, hiking, doing puzzles, and playing my banjo. My faith in Jesus plays a large role in my life and I aim to honor God in everything I do.
