Background
About Jon Busdeker
Jon Busdeker is a storyteller who believes in community and the importance of building community. Sunny Oranges is a one-of-a-kind video storytelling company based in Orlando, Florida. Founded by former Orlando Sentinel and WESH-2 reporter Jon Busdeker, Sunny Oranges specializes in online and social media video. What separates us from other video production companies is our ability to make a story come alive. We know how to do that because we're trained storytellers. After working for more than a decade in the news business, Busdeker started Sunny Oranges in 2018. The company was founded on the principles that video doesn't have to be expensive to be good. Sunny Oranges works with businesses and nonprofit of all sizes and budgets. He also teaches businesses and nonprofits how to shoot video and tell their own stories through traditional media and on social media. Busdeker's videos have been viewed more than 20 million times. He co-hosts a radio show on Real Radio 104.1 FM and is a frequent guest on "A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan." He has been featured in Real Simple Magazine and NPPA Magazine and has created work for WUCF, the PBS affiliate in Central Florida. His latest project, Orlando 60, is a series of 60-second video on his favorite attractions in Orlando. In 2018, Busdeker co-authored his first book,"100 Things to do in Orlando Before You Die." For years, Busdeker worked as a one-man-band digital storyteller and video journalist who would shoot and edit video, appear on camera, blog, host live shots and produce video using mobile devices. He also wrote for print, online and television. Busdeker worked for newspapers for 10 years before transitioning to television. In 2016, Busdeker became the Orlando My Way entertainment reporter at WESH-TV in Orlando. Busdeker covered theme parks, attractions, restaurants and retail in Central Florida.
